project 1 : sketchbook and journal
In this project, we were required to sketch and document the physical and intangible qualities of the assigned building as well as immediate context of the site. We were requird to produce 10 on-site sketches which capture the important details and spirit of the place. The building that I was assigned to was Instana Bandar in Jugra.
Through this project, I have identified the architectural historic structure of the palace and captured the tangible and intangible essence that is contained within the architectural realm.

project 2 : measured drawing
In this project, we were required to do a measuring exercise on Istana Bandar, taking all physical information of the building, from its location to its spatial layout as well as details. We were given laser measuring devices and a 30 meter measuring tape. We brought additional tools such as papers, clipping boards, pencils and camera that would aid in recording all the data obtained. Since Istana Bandar is a large span building, 2 groups of 20 were combined and were split into smaller groups to be assigned to specific tasks. A physical model was also required. I have been assigned to produce the section drawings, which comprises of 8 X-X short sections and 2 Y-Y long sections with proper annotations and dimensions.
Through this project, I recognized and recalled techniques of measured drawing and documentation, as well as execute fieldwork and hands-on measurement exercise. I've also learned to translate measured data into scaled drawings.

project 3 : report and video on measured building
In this project, we were required to produce a report which elaborates on the significance of the building being measured from various aspects, such as architectural, historical and cultural. In this report, we were required to relate the architecture of the building to its significance, highlighting how the two support the inhabitation of the building. A video documenting the building is also required to provide 3D experience of the building.
Through this project, I learned to explain the application of architectural historic documents, describe architectural cultural heritage and elaborate the relationship between architecture and the significance of the building as well as its inhabitation in the end.
