project 1 : paying it forward
In this project, we were required to identify an environmental-community related issue in our local community in a group of 10. The issues have to be genuine and any solution provided must have an impact to the environment and community. In short, we were to undergo an environmental community service in which it will benefit the public and the community.
We decided to convert a landfill to a vegetative garden located in ElShaddai Refugee Learning Centre in Klang. Besides that, we built a timber staircase to give access to the new level garden using salvaged timber from construction sites. During the process, we took photos and videos to document and compile them into our report, poster, and video.
Through this project, I learned how to produce a documentation of the project from proposal up to the completion of the project. Besides that, I was able to recognise the role and responsibility of an architect towards the environment and society.
