project 2 : design anatomy
In Task 1, we were required to conduct precedent studies of construction systems that we would like to apply to our design studio design. They should include the roof system, wall system, flooring system and structural system. Then using the case studies as the reference, we were to produce sketch studies of at least 2 facade design alternatives for the current studio design project. In Task 2, we were to integrate the systems into the design and produce a technical studies presentation board which would include Basic Uniform Building By-Law (UBBL) study, Structural design study, and a sectional perspective drawing.
Through this project, I was able to analyse and document construction methods and materials, evaluate construction system and detailing of the selected project, and critique issues pertaining to construction principles, materials, techniques, codes of practice, process of assembly and detailing.
