project 1 : fettucine truss bridge

The objective of this project is to understand the tension and compressive strength of construction materials as well as force distribution in a truss. In a group of 6, we were required to design and construct a fettucine truss bridge of 750mm clear span and maximum weight of 200g. Case studies were first conducted on the Waddell A Truss bridge to start off on the initial design of the bridge. It then undergoed load testing before being refined a few times to become the final bridge. A final report was then written to record all datas and analysis. Through this project, I've learned about the load distribution in a truss, explored different arrangement of members in a truss structure.and was able to identify tension and compression members in a truss structure.
